Randi,Mini Thread Crochet Bear
08.08.06 (12:03 am)   [edit]

Let me show  my newest creation, Randi.

You can see her at the folowing link

http://tinyurl.com/mys55" title="http://tinyurl.com/mys55" target="_blank"http://tinyurl.com/mys55

My patterns are uniquely designed from start to finish by myself. All materials for my bears are new.

Randi measures 3 inch tall, made from a mix of thread (mohair, acrylic) ; her sweet features has been embroidered with fine embroidery thread.

Her face is finished with gentle shadings.

Her arms are needle sculpted.

She is filled with a new material and five way jointed.

She has black glass eyes.  I hand sewed her little dress (you can remove if you want)

She has 2 mini silk  bows on her head and she has also a mini hat

She will arrive home with her little friend : an handmade polymer clay bear made by me without any molds.

She comes from a smoke-free home.

You will see a lot of pictures of her ; she has been very quiet and patient with me...;o))

She is so sweet and has a lot of love to give.

I'm sure she will find a sweet Mommy soon.

Lola, my new grandchild
08.01.06 (10:24 pm)   [edit]

Finally I have pictures of Lola, my new granddaughter.

Poor little girl, she is born on July 14th, during a very high temperatures period in Belgium.  Poor little Mom, also....

And another one :

Our vacations in Nova Scotia
07.20.06 (3:46 pm)   [edit]

My husband and me went to Nova Scotia for a few days where we did camping ; it was the first time for me but I enjoyed it so much that I'm planning similar vacations for next year.

The camping and pictures of what there is around.

The only negative point was the weather : nearly 40 degrees Celsius.  I could not do anything as crocheting or tatting.

I have been burned as a lobster ; in a few minutes, I was burned.

For coming back to Saint John, we decided to take the ferry Princess of Acadia ; marvelous !!! we saw a Minke Whale, too far for taking pictures, but we saw it ; dolphins, seals and a lot of aquatic birds.

We visited the Historic Gardens in Annapolis Royal described as "Nova Scotia Hidden Treasure" ; I can understand it ; it's so beautiful.

A few roses pictures

            Here an

The Acadian House and an inside picture

There is a site about it : www.historicgardens.com

What I like a most : the roses collection ; there are more than 230 cultivars in the Rose Garden and a labyrinth made of roses bushes.

Around the gardens, there are salt marshes where we saw a deer with her 3 babies ....

After, we visited Port-Royal, also in Annapolis Royal : it's a reconstructed habitation of French settlement in North America. It's based on plans made by Samuel Champlain himself.

We could see the Samuel Champlain house.

Tomorrow, I will have pictures of the little trip on the ferry Digby/Saint John.

Bye for now.

3 mini bears for supporting Childhood Cancer Fight
06.09.06 (8:09 pm)   [edit]

From June 9 to 11, 2006

Lemonade Bears Benefit Auction

June 9 to 11, 2006 at www.bid4bears.com

Orchid, Neila and Adenia will be here for raising money and help the childhood Cancer Fight.

Teddy bear artists from around the world will be donating their bears to be auctioned off to help fight childhood cancer.

In July, 2000, a four year old cancer patient named Alexandra "Alex" Scott announced a seemingly simple idea -she was holding a lemonade stand to raise money to help "her doctors" find a cure for kids with cancer. The idea was put into action by Alex and her older brother, Patrick, when they set up the first "Alex's Lemonade Stand for pediatric cancer" on their front lawn.
From this simple idea, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation  evolved into a nationwide fundraising movement for childhood cancer.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is committed to:

  • Raising money and awareness for pediatric cancer causes; primarily research into new cures and treatments.
  • Encouraging and educating others, especially children, to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for childhood cancer.
