I will present you the new babies to be adopted.

The red one is Johannie ; I put a collar in bobbinlace, a skirt in tatting and beads.

She was born on June 2nd 2004.

The white one is Ashley ; I made her with cashmere thread I did myself ; she has a little heart in genuine Swarovski Crystal.
She was born on June 14th 2004.

06.16.04 (11:56 am)   [edit]

Yesterday was a very great day ; the school organized a Medieval Festival ; it has been a big success for students and for my husband who had the crazy idea to set that event.

I has been invited to present a lace conference.
I prepared everything during 3 days and a big part of the nights ; I was so stressed, but the result was so great.

The students stayed very attentive ; no discussions during the presentation.

Because it was in French Immersion, we decided to do it in French and translated in English.
I was a little shy to speak in front of 300 people so I have been helped.

I made an edging and I put bobbins of different type (I will add a picture) and I prepared the famous snake to let them try.

It's so wonderful to see the children 10-11-12 years old can catch the movements (twist and cross).

I talked about Charlemagne.. I could see their eyes.. opened like a lighthouse filled with little stars.

After that, one of them came and asked me how I could know all that.
I explained that I read a lot and that lace is my passion.

Bears Collection Laura
06.04.04 (6:37 pm)   [edit]

I decided to make different bears and create a collection.
I used the Valdani Hand Dyed Cotton.
This is Laura. A little bear 2", 5-way jointed, crocheted. The pattern is designed by Edith Molina.

I added a little shirt in bobbinlace.
