Our vacations in Nova Scotia
07.20.06 (3:46 pm)   [edit]

My husband and me went to Nova Scotia for a few days where we did camping ; it was the first time for me but I enjoyed it so much that I'm planning similar vacations for next year.

The camping and pictures of what there is around.

The only negative point was the weather : nearly 40 degrees Celsius.  I could not do anything as crocheting or tatting.

I have been burned as a lobster ; in a few minutes, I was burned.

For coming back to Saint John, we decided to take the ferry Princess of Acadia ; marvelous !!! we saw a Minke Whale, too far for taking pictures, but we saw it ; dolphins, seals and a lot of aquatic birds.

We visited the Historic Gardens in Annapolis Royal described as "Nova Scotia Hidden Treasure" ; I can understand it ; it's so beautiful.

A few roses pictures

The Acadian House and an inside picture

There is a site about it : www.historicgardens.com

What I like a most : the roses collection ; there are more than 230 cultivars in the Rose Garden and a labyrinth made of roses bushes.

Around the gardens, there are salt marshes where we saw a deer with her 3 babies ....

After, we visited Port-Royal, also in Annapolis Royal : it's a reconstructed habitation of French settlement in North America. It's based on plans made by Samuel Champlain himself.

We could see the Samuel Champlain house.

Tomorrow, I will have pictures of the little trip on the ferry Digby/Saint John.

Bye for now.
